Metro in Saint-Petersburg

Saint-Petersburg has the deepest underground network in the world. The city was built on marshy ground and so they had to dig deep down so that to reach the basement rock - and now you are traveling in the metro that is about 70-80 meters (about 262 feet) deep.

Monument of Nicolas I

Saint-Petersburg has the unique equestrian monument with just two points of balance that are the legs of the hourse of Nicolas I (by Peter Clodt). Now you can see it on St-Isaaks Square.
